MD Aircraft GmbH and flyvbird/VINI announce a strategic partnership to build an integrated ecosystem for electric regional aviation.
Amsterdam, Sustainable Aero Festival December 3, 2025
MD Aircraft GmbH (Friedeburg, Germany) and flyvbird GmbH, operating as VINI (Stuttgart, Germany), today announced their strategic partnership to jointly develop an integrated digital and operational ecosystem providing electric regional air travel in Europe.
At the core of the partnership are:
- the MDA1 eViator™, MDA’s next-generation, all-electric, short-field, regional aircraft, and;
- flyvAI, flyvbird’s AI-powered platform with dynamic routing, energy-optimized scheduling, and operational decision support.
Together, the companies aim to integrate aircraft performance, real demand patterns, and operational intelligence into one, coherent, future-ready system.
flyvbird inks interest in 10 eViator aircraft
flyvbird reaffirmed its interest in the MDA1 eViator as a central component of its electric regional air mobility services by entered an LOI covering ten aircraft.
This step further strengthens the MDA1 eViator’s market rollout and highlights the importance of German-European Cooperation to sustainable aviation.
MDA Aircraft integrates flyvAI and selects VINI as a core operational technology partner
MD Aircraft has confirmed that the flyvAI platform will be integrated into the MDA1 eViator’s mission evaluation and operational development.
The rationale is clear:
flyvbird and VINI are among the few players in Europe actively preparing for a fully-integrated market, offering operational pathways connecting the customer base to electric regional and advanced air mobility.
flyvbird/VINI:
- builds early customer demand and booking patterns
- connects regional airports into a developing mobility network
- creates a real operator and customer ecosystem
- demonstrates viable use cases for electric regional aviation
MD Aircraft’s collaboration with flyvAI provides direct access to a market-ready environment, offering valuable insights supporting the launch of its electric aircraft.
Gregor Müller, CEO MD Aircraft GmbH:
"With the MDA1 eViator, we are taking a significant step toward practical, everyday electric regional flying. The collaboration with flyvbird and the integration of flyvAI allow us to explore real operational scenarios – intelligently networked, energy-optimised, and close to real customer needs."
Tomislav Lang, CEO & Founder flyvbird / VINI:
"Europe needs a new operating system for regional mobility. With the MDA1 eViator, we have a strong German partner who shares this vision. Together, we are building the foundation to make electric regional flying truly accessible for regions, airports and people."
